Since its inception, the CEEN has been able to undertake several programs, despite financial constraints, of which the following are the main:

1.
Development of Eco club and Green Gift Strategic Analysis for WWF Nepal Program.
WWF Nepal Program awarded the CEEN a small grant to develop an "Eco club and Green Gift Strategic Analysis". To develop this, the chairman, Mr. Parshuram S Niraula, visited about fifteen schools of Kathmandu valley, to study and review the school-based environmental programs through eco clubs.
He met the students, teachers and the principals to seek their experiences. To present the findings of the study, a workshop was held at Hotel Clarion in Lalitpur on October 11, 1999. The workshop was attended by teachers from schools having eco clubs, officials from WWF Nepal Program, IUCN, Central Zoo/KMTNC, and CEEN executive members.
The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Ukesh Raj Bhuju, Conservation Director of WWF Nepal Program. The workshop was aimed to give a final shape to the strategy document.

2.
Establishment of Eco club at a high school:
Sudesha High School in Lalitpur was made a pilot school where a number of activities took place. It was started with the establishment of a club which focused conservation programs. The Earth Day 2000 was celebrated with programs like environmental songs, skits and actual clean ups. The participants, after the cultural program, cleaned up the school compound, the road and finally moved to a nearby temple and cleaned it thoroughly. Speeches on environmental conservation was given by the Director of the school and the Chairman of the CEEN.
Like wise in the same school, a wall quiz was organized and the students were awarded with prizes. Another program, called "Best Out of Waste" was organized where the students were encouraged to use the old/unwanted materials to produce anything usable. A lot of children participated in the program. The items were displayed and a panel of judges marked them. The winning entries were awarded. The items are at display at the CEEN Central office.

3.
Regular film shows were held
Regular film shows were held for the students of the eco-club and for the members of the CEEN. The films comprised the ones received from the WWF UK.   The CEEN has developed several short and long term projects, which have been waiting for proper funding. The project duration ranges from two months to three years. Proposals have been developed which aim at addressing the most pressing problems. Major global and national issues are addressed in the proposals. These proposals, if supported will certainly bring positive results and help in the sustainable development. All these projects are basically awareness raising ones. The CEEN is striving hard to locate potential donors to support these projects. The CEEN believes that it has a lot of potential, provided funds are available. Thus, the proposals are urgently needing funding.

Conservation Education Project:
In order to disseminate environmental information and awareness, the CEEN has developed a two day's education package. This project is basically tailor made for students of high school. The program is in workshop model which includes ecological games, case studies, role plays and group work and presentation. The project is aimed at raising awareness on conservation and at the same time raising funds, as the CEEN intends to charge the schools/students for the workshop. The funds thus raised will be used for resources/persons involved in the workshop, and to run the day to day affairs of the CEEN.
