Worldview International Foundation (WIF), an International NGO with consultative status with the United Nations has been actively engaged in Media training, development and practical applications of multimedia development po0rjects since 1979. Worldview obtained a mandate to develop a Global Television Network on sustainable development at the UN Earth Summit in Rio in 1992. Young Asia Television is a direct result of this and has become the centerpiece of a future Global TV program network. For this purpose,      Worldview established a separate company named Worldview Global Media Ltd., registered in Sri Lanka, authorized by the Government to produce and export Television programs. YA*TV transmitted its first Program in Sir Lanka on October 24th 1995, to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations.

YA*TV has the capacity of producing a 30 minute TV program daily, in addition to special programs. We have a library of 120 one hour Programs on information and education and over 600 infotainment programs of 30 minute duration in 7 program concepts. They are Space To Let, Nature Calls, YA Tribe, YA Café, Young Outlook, I-Zone and View to Tell. These Programs have gained an exceptionally high audience rating in all the countries of broadcast.

YA*TV Programs are available in many Asian language version of Tamil, Hindi, Khmer, Vietnamese, Arabic, Urdu, Nepalese, Thai, Basa Malaysia and Chinese. In addition YA*TV is developing tailor-made versions for European, American and Scandinavian networks. YA*TV is not seeking to supplement commercial Broadcasting, instead we thrive to carve a niche among young viewers seeing alternative TV Programs that educate and inform. The key to winning such an audience is to provide interesting, professionally produced, high quality programs on subjects that are relevant to Asian youth without affecting their values and traditions. Young Asia Television has successfully accomplished this mission and is positioned today as the Heartbeat of Asia.
